Why "digital dilettante"?
A dilettante is someone who dabbles. It's usually an insult. I've decided to wear it as a compliment.
By day I'm a senior software engineer at Microsoft, helping deliver the contact-center side of Business & Industry Copilot — the culmination (so far) of 25 years spent across the whole stack of this industry: research labs, government systems, ad tech, healthcare compliance, insurance infrastructure, and consulting for everyone from non-profits to real-estate firms. The dilettante part is everything else. I automate things that don't need automating. I run a home lab. I dig through 18th-century Polish archives for genealogy data. I believe that if something happens twice it should be scripted, and that the best way to learn a technology is to build something slightly ridiculous with it.
I live in Maryland with my family. The best hours of my day belong to them; the terminal gets what's left.
